Hurricane Patricia Lashes Mexico’s Pacific Coast

David Kenton Adams

Mexico is bracing for the worst as Hurricane Patricia lashes its Pacific Coast. It is the strongest storm in the Western Hemisphere since records were first kept in 1949. The coastal states of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, and Nayarit are expecting a year’s worth of precipitation in just 48 hours. Hurricane Patricia is now a category 5 storm with winds of 265 km. per hour, with gusts of up to 400 kph. Affected ports are closed and troops have been mobilized for evacuation efforts.
