Air pollution and climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC): Impacts, adaptation and mitigation actions

Call for Papers for the special issue of Atmósfera


Submission Deadline extended to 1 May


The Editorial Board of Atmósfera is pleased to issue a call for papers for a special issue with the theme «Air pollution and climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC): Impacts, adaptation and mitigation actions». All high-quality scientific papers relevant to this theme are welcome. All accepted papers will be collected in a single volume as a special issue.

The specific areas related to the theme for manuscript submission are:

  • Regional/urban impacts and implemented actions to mitigate climate change
  • Regional/urban impacts and implemented mitigation actions to improve air quality
  • Coordinated action to address air pollution and climate change impacts in different sectors, e.g., agriculture, urban transport, waste management, biomass, etc.
  • Integration of climate change and air quality and the multiple benefits in a multidisciplinary approach

The Special Issue will be co-edited by Guest Editors: Dr. Luisa T. Molina (MCE2 ¹), Dr. Luis Gerardo Ruiz Suarez (INECC²), Dr. Jose Abraham Ortínez (INECC²) and Dr. Oscar Peralta (CCA³).

Atmósfera focuses on theoretical, empirical and applied research in all areas of atmospheric sciences as well as interdisciplinary contributions with other physical and social sciences. Atmósfera is an open access journal and no publication fees are required, since it is supported by Centro de Ciencias de la Atmósfera of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). It is indexed in several databases and its JCR impact factor is 1.52 (2018).

The deadline for manuscript submission is 1 March 2020 Submission Deadline extended to 1 May , with a targeted publication date by 1 January 2021.
