Dr. Cazorla founded the Institute for Atmospheric Research at Universidad San Francisco de Quito,
Ecuador, and led the institute as its Director for 12 years. Dr. Cazorla is a former NASA Postdoctoral
Fellow (2010-2012) and a Fulbright Scholar (2003-2005). She obtained her PhD in Meteorology at Penn State University (2010) where she specialized in measurements and instrument development. Dr. Cazorla majored in Chemical Engineering at Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito. Dr. Cazorla conducts research in Quito and the Galapagos Islands where she established long-term programs for monitoring atmospheric composition in partnership with the NASA SHADOZ and AERONET networks. Dr. Cazorla is the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Group on Reactive Gases to the World Meteorological Organization and one of the Co-Chairs of the Ozone Research Managers to the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer.
